Grateful Friends' Assistance Programs
You may have just received a cancer diagnosis or be a cancer patient receiving life-saving treatments or living every day with your cancer. Grateful Friends would like to help you with the challenges you are uniquely facing as you navigate your journey. Read through the program descriptions below and let us know how can we help.
We serve adult cancer patients residing in the Essex and Middlesex Counties of Massachusetts.
❤️ 1. A Little Peace of Mind Program
Have the side effects and recovery of your cancer treatments left you unable to vacuum, make dinner or even work? You can’t drive your car, clean your home or pay your bills?
Wouldn’t it be lovely to be presented with a Gas Card to give to that special friend that’s been driving you to treatments and appointments? Or receive a gift certificate for a house cleaning service or just a little extra help paying your bills?
Maybe you’d like to take a yoga class for cancer patients, have a massage or receive acupuncture treatments to ease some of the symptoms of your cancer and cancer treatments.
Grateful Friends’ mission is to provide support to adults living with or being treated for cancer. If this is you, or a friend or family member of yours, complete the application and let’s get you A Little Peace of Mind.
•Attach a doctor’s note on letterhead.
•$750 maximum benefit per recipient per calendar year.
•Copies of bills requested to be paid must be furnished.
•Financial assistance will be made directly to the vendors.
❤️ 2. Need a Break Program
Perhaps you’d like to forget about the “Big C” for a short time and enjoy a baseball game, a concert or show or dinner out with loved ones.
The other part of Grateful Friends’ mission is to provide unexpected joy to adults living with or being treated for cancer. If this is you or a friend or family member of yours, complete the application and let us know that you Need a Break!
•Attach a doctor’s note on letterhead.
•$250 maximum benefit per recipient per calendar year.
❤️ 3. Thank You Program
Would you like to acknowledge a caregiver for their assistance by sending a thank you gift? If this is you or a friend or family member of yours, complete the application and let us know how we can help you say Thank You.
•$200 maximum benefit per recipient per calendar year.
Recipients must be adults (18+) living with cancer or going through cancer treatment.
There is a total maximum benefit of $1000 per recipient per calendar year between ALL GF programs. Requests over the maximum benefit will require approval from the Board of Directors.
